1. Core Technical Parameters & Configuration Options
The S20 oil-immersed transformer is designed for medium and low-voltage power distribution systems, with flexible capacity and voltage configurations to meet the diverse power supply needs of different regions and scenarios. All parameters are optimized to balance energy efficiency, operational stability and environmental protection, ensuring safe and reliable long-term operation.
Basic Technical Specifications
The rated capacity of the S20 series ranges from 30 kVA to 3150 kVA, fully covering the power demand of small and medium-sized power supply projects such as residential communities, commercial streets, industrial parks and rural power supply stations. The high-voltage side rated voltage is mainly 10 kV (optional 6 kV, 35 kV), and the low-voltage side rated voltage is 0.4 kV, which is fully compatible with the low-voltage power distribution standards of most countries and regions.
The rated frequency is 50Hz/60Hz, adapting to the power grid frequency requirements of different regions. The common connection group is Dyn11, which can effectively suppress third harmonic interference, improve power quality, and avoid damage to sensitive electrical equipment such as household appliances and industrial machinery. The impedance voltage is 4%–6%, which can effectively limit short-circuit current and protect the transformer and connected power distribution equipment from damage.
The transformer complies with GB 20052-2024 Energy Efficiency Class II standards, with overall efficiency reaching over 99%, and no-load loss reduced by 15%–20% compared with the S13 series, while load loss is reduced by 3%–5%. The local discharge amount is ≤10pC (far lower than the national standard of ≤50pC), which effectively reduces the risk of insulation aging and extends the service life of the transformer. The temperature rise limit is 60K, 5K lower than that of the S13 series, ensuring stable operation even under high-load conditions.
Flexible Configuration Options
To meet the specific needs of different application scenarios, we provide diversified configuration options. For outdoor installation scenarios, we offer a fully sealed corrugated oil tank design without an oil conservator, which reduces the overall volume of the transformer, improves sealing performance and realizes maintenance-free operation in the short term.
For scenarios requiring frequent voltage adjustment (such as areas with unstable grid voltage), an on-load tap changer (OLTC) can be configured to adjust the output voltage without power failure, ensuring continuous power supply. Additionally, we can customize the transformer’s cooling method (natural oil circulation ONAN is standard, forced oil circulation OFAF is optional for high-load scenarios), protection level (IP20/IP23), and installation method (floor-mounted/pole-mounted) according to site conditions.
For high-temperature, high-humidity or coastal salt-spray areas, we provide enhanced anti-corrosion treatment (epoxy zinc-rich primer + topcoat) and reinforced insulation structure to improve environmental adaptability. For environmentally sensitive areas, FR3 natural ester eco-friendly insulating oil is optional, which is biodegradable, non-toxic and fire-resistant, further improving environmental protection performance.
2. Advanced Structure & Core Competitive Advantages
The S20 oil-immersed transformer adopts scientific structural design and high-quality raw materials, with outstanding performance in energy saving, reliability, safety and environmental protection, making it stand out among similar distribution transformers.
Ultra-Low Loss & Energy-Saving Design
The core of the transformer is made of high-permeability cold-rolled silicon steel sheets with an optimized step-lap or roll-core structure (optional), with shear burrs controlled below 0.02mm. The core adopts a five-level silicon steel sheet joint design, and no paint is used in the core manufacturing process, which minimizes no-load loss and no-load current—no-load current is reduced by 70%–90% compared with the S13 series.
The winding adopts high-quality oxygen-free copper rods (with higher conductivity than electrolytic copper) to make conductors, with a tight and concentric winding structure and advanced vacuum impregnation process. The insulation structure is optimized, and semi-oil path and prefabricated insulation materials are adopted, which effectively reduces load loss and improves the overall energy efficiency of the transformer. The low-loss design not only significantly reduces the user’s electricity consumption and operational costs, but also reduces carbon emissions, in line with the global green energy development trend and national “double carbon” strategy requirements.
Even under 20% overload conditions, the transformer can operate stably for a long time, with an average temperature rise reduced by 10K compared with ordinary models, effectively extending the service life of the transformer (up to more than 35 years under normal operation). It is especially suitable for scenarios with low load rates (30%–60%), and the energy-saving effect is more prominent during long-term operation.
Reliable Oil-Immersed Insulation & Sealing System
The transformer uses high-quality mineral insulating oil with excellent insulation performance and heat dissipation effect, which can effectively insulate the winding and core, and quickly dissipate the heat generated during operation. The oil tank adopts a fully sealed corrugated structure (S20-M model), which cancels the traditional oil conservator. The corrugated sheets can automatically expand and contract with the temperature change of the insulating oil, compensating for the volume change of the oil and isolating the transformer oil from the air.
This fully sealed design effectively prevents the oxidation and deterioration of the insulating oil, avoids the intrusion of dust and moisture, and greatly reduces the risk of oil leakage. All sealing parts are made of high-quality aging-resistant acrylate materials, with one-time molding technology without interfaces, ensuring the tightness of the transformer and reducing maintenance frequency. The transformer has strong overload capacity, and can operate stably for 2 hours under 120% rated load, adapting to the fluctuation of loads in residential and industrial scenarios.
Low Noise & Strong Environmental Adaptability
Through optimized structural design—such as adding noise reduction pads at the bottom of the oil tank, optimizing the core and winding structure, and adopting a full-filled insulation process—the noise level of the S20 transformer is controlled within ≤48dB (measured at 1m distance), which is 20% lower than the current national standard JB/T10088-2016 and 4–6dB lower than ordinary transformers, meeting the noise control requirements of residential areas, commercial centers and other sensitive environments.
The transformer has strong environmental adaptability, and can operate reliably in the temperature range of -30℃ to +50℃, adapting to harsh climate conditions such as high altitude, high temperature, high humidity and cold regions. The surface of the oil tank is treated with anti-corrosion coating, which can effectively resist the erosion of rain, dust, salt spray and corrosive gases, making it suitable for long-term outdoor installation in various regions such as coastal areas, industrial parks and rural areas.
Comprehensive Safety Protection
The S20 oil-immersed transformer is equipped with a complete set of protection devices to ensure safe operation. It is standard equipped with a pressure relief valve, which can safely release pressure when the internal pressure of the transformer is too high, avoiding safety accidents. It is also equipped with a gas relay (with alarm and tripping terminals optional), temperature controller and oil level indicator, which can monitor the operating status of the transformer in real time.
In case of abnormal conditions such as overheating, oil leakage, gas accumulation or overvoltage, it can issue an audible and visual alarm in time, and can be connected to the power distribution system to realize automatic power cut-off, effectively protecting the transformer and the safety of the power grid. The winding and core are reinforced with special structural designs, with strong mechanical strength, which can withstand the impact of short-circuit current and avoid winding deformation or damage. The transformer’s shell is made of high-quality steel plate, with a firm structure and good impact resistance, suitable for complex outdoor installation environments.
